Half Mile Of Hell

You hear the thunder of the hooves and the roar of the crowd, then here the Chucks come racing down the final stretch in a blaze of chaos. It's no wonder they call it the Half Mile of Hell. These Dia de Muertos skeletons celebrate life and rebirth. Just as the Chuckwagons have raced for 100-years at the Calgary Stampede, we celebrate their legacy and on-going community.

We took painstaking care to get every detail correct in this statue.  Time was spent with a chuckwagon team to learn all the rigging and represent it here as best we could. Reference photos were crucial to nail little details like the collar and hames, belly band, traces, tail cropper and of course the elaborate reins. Right down to the number of spokes in the wheels and the red barrel in the back. We had direction from an Equine Vet to nail the horse anatomy and various leg positions of the gallop. The skeletons were also reviewed by a chiropractor and given a thumbs up.

*The base legs & rusted wheels do detach from the flat top and chuckwagons.  If you do not want the base legs we can remove them and deduct $1500.
